Cassava Starch

Neutral-tasting starch that thickens, binds and stabilises, for food and industry.

What it is

About Our Cassava Starch

Cassava starch is washed out of grated roots, settled, dried and milled into a fine white powder. It has a clean, neutral taste and a clear paste, which is why food makers use it to thicken and bind. Outside the kitchen it sizes paper and textiles and forms the base of many adhesives.

Typical Uses

  • Sauces, soups and fillings
  • Confectionery and snacks
  • Paper and board sizing
  • Textile sizing
  • Adhesives and glues

How Much Fits in a Container?

A planning estimate for first-time importers: choose a bag size and a container.

The assumptions behind this estimate
  • Bagged cassava starch stows at about 700 kg per cubic metre (our estimate).
  • About 28 m³ of a 20 ft container is usable once bags are stacked with a loading margin.
  • A working weight limit of 21 tonnes of cargo. The real limit depends on the shipping line, the container and road limits at each end.
  • Jumbo bags usually load fewer tonnes than the figure shown, because they stack less tightly.

For planning only. Your quote, prepared with Williot Logistics, confirms the real load.
